How to manage big 4b/4c hair
4b/4c hair can be difficult to manage, but don’t get discouraged like I did so many times.  I know this is the hair that I was born with. However, dealing with shrinkage, puffiness, and knots is no fun. Taking care of 4c hair  requires times and patience. Don’t get me wrong, I love my hair just like I love every other part of my body. If you find yourself frustrated with your natural curls, fear not. Below are some helpful tips!

Problem: Your hair is dry, big with possibly no curl patterns.

Solution:
1. Use a gentle, sulfate free shampoo once a week. That will protect your ends and also keep your hair feeling less stripped.
2.  Brush your hair, wet it, and apply a moisturizing conditioner as often as possible during the week. Mix the conditioner with extra virgin olive oil in your palm before putting it on your ends. This process will add more moisture to the hair and help it last longer. Moisture and natural hair go hand in hand.
3.  Apply a mixture of serum and Eco-styler gel (with extra virgin olive oil) on your hair while it is still wet and use your fingers to define your curls. This method is perfect if you want your hair style to last longer. If you have a gel that’s already working for you, you don’t have to change it. I mentioned this one because a lot of women with natural hair swear by it.
If you just did the big-chop, it will take awhile to get your patters to look the way you want them to. You have to experiment with different products before you can find the perfect ones. Being patient is key when it comes to dealing with 4b/4c natural hair.
