My Weight Loss Journey: 5-Month Update

It’s been exactly 5 months since I started my weight loss journey. Seeing the picture on the left was a wake up call for me; that plus my sister-in-law and my husband telling me that I got too big. The last thing I wanted was for one of my in-laws to tell me how big I was. I got tired of seeing an older version of myself in the mirror. I felt heavy, and I started to have knee pain. My goal was to lose 35 pounds by June. And as you can see, things are looking up!
I lost 25 pounds in 5 months. As some of you already know, I did not do it by exercising and eating healthy only. I started in September,  and I lost 14 pounds by November 2013  after walking 3-5 miles a day, 5 days a week. Then I was asked to test 3 different diet supplements during a 3-month period, which helped me lose 11 pounds altogether. I stopped exercising while I was experimenting with the diet supplements so I could report my progress more accurately. Now that I am done with the experiment, I am back to exercising.
It’s been hard to wake up at 5:00 in the morning to exercise, but seeing a younger version of myself in the mirror every morning is all I need to get me going. A light breakfast and my morning coffee help, too. I usually start with dancing, followed by 10-15 girl push-ups, and my favorite parts: sit-ups and crunches. I am more focused on toning my body these days. I want the flat belly and the well-defined arms.

Losing weight is never easy. I had to first start with a commitment, followed by motivations from different sources (including my readers),  and lots of sacrifices.  I still have 10 pounds to lose by June of this year, but I feel better than I did five months ago. I went form wearing  sizes 12-14 to wearing size 8 tops, and size 10 jeans and dresses. Size 6 here I come! My goal weight is 140 pounds. I am not there yet, but I will be.

Wow! I am truly inspired, by your weight loss. I've been trying to loose ten pounds and it's taking me forever. I think I need to go from exercising 2 day a week to five instead. I have recently added weights to my work out, because what I really ned is to tone. Great job, and thanks for the motivation!

    Much Love,
    Tania
