Fitness Friday: My Experience With Happy Harvest Leaf Spinach

Hello loves! For what I went through last night, I was not even sure that I was going to be able to write this post today.  I had a stomach discomfort that left me nauseous all night. Now,  if you’ve read my fitness posts before, you know that I normally skip dinner. But I did not eat much for lunch. I had a light snack a few hours later, and when dinner time came, I was starving.  I did not want to eat anything heavy. So, I heated up some sweet corn in the microwave, which I had with a good glass of wine. I woke up in the middle of the night with a terrible stomach pain. I felt miserable all morning, and that’s why this post is so late. Sorry! But after eating some chicken soup this morning, and slept until 12:30 P.M, I think I will make it through the day. Now let’s talk about spinach!  The truth is I don’t like to eat spinach.  It is like cabbage and broccoli in a way that they don’t have the best taste in the world. But after learning how beneficial spinach is for my overall health, I decided to include it in my diet. Getting fresh spinach every time I go grocery shopping is digging a hole in my bank account right now. So, I decided to try both frozen and canned spinach. The first can that I tried was Happy Harvest Leaf Spinach. After reading the label and saw “No artificial flavors, no preservatives, and gluten free,” I knew I had made the right choice.

I know they say that canned foods are not good for you. They have too much salt, and the process they use to preserve them is unhealthy, but let me the you, the freshness inside that Happy Harvest can is incredible. This spinach does not taste like it came from a can. Most canned foods that I have tasted always had that terrible taste that stays with you way after you’re done eating, but not this one. The can contains only spinach, water, and salt. Gluten free foods have become a major part in my life because my daughter is allergic to wheat.  This reason only makes this spinach a big favorite for me. Another big plus for me is the fact that I can just heat it up and eat it. Or I can use it to prepare different dishes. The best part is I don’t have to pay too much. If you ever decide to try any canned veggies, I suggest you give this one a try.
Do you eat spinach?

Sometimes the convenience of canned foods overrides all the health warnings – like I say anything is okay in moderation!

I'm glad you feel better. I haven't used canned vegetables before but I think I might give this a try some time.
Thanks so much for the review and have a great weekend.

I really don't like canned food. I would prefer fresh over canned food any day.

I love spinach! One of my favourite greens I eat with everything lol. As for canned food I like to steer away from them unless I have no other option if I can't get fresh veggies I always go for frozen

I'm generally like you when it come to vegetables, i love greens, but i think they are distasteful. However I looove them in soups (African soups). I'd probably do fresh or frozen vegetable, except its of course tomato paste. This one is worth the try, looks goody

P.S- My disqus never works, which is which is why I post here as a guest most times, even though i'm not 😛
