Fitness Friday:: Overeating While On A Diet, And How To Fix It

Hello Darlings! I’ll be the first to say that I don’t always eat healthy. I have days when I drink spinach and banana smoothies for lunch, but there are also days when I crave all kind of carbs for lunch. My cheat days have been getting mixed up lately. Don’t get me wrong. It is okay to have cheat days. I hate strict diets. I think they are boring and unrealistic. But I definitely went too far last week. I was craving Chinese. So hubby and I went to our favorite place, and I ate a little too much. And on Sunday, we went to my daughter’s favorite place to celebrate her birthday. I  left the house hungry, and it took them almost 30 minutes to bring food to our table. I was not counting, but I ate pizza for at least two people. Now my question is, how do I fix all that Chinese and pizza overload?

Overeating is a crime when you are trying to lose weight. If you did the crime, you should be able to do the time. Here are a few things you can do if you are wise enough to realize that you’ve overeaten.

  1. Don’t let it take over your life. Eating is fun, especially when you have family and friends around. Just keep in mind that there are always consequences. Keep your goal weight in mind and get back on the wagon.
  2. Add 30 more minutes to your exercise routine.
A few more minutes a day will not kill you, but eating too much and not
doing anything about it can kill your weight loss goals.
  3. Cut back on carbs and sugary drinks.
Drink only water and cut back on snacks that contain artificial
sweeteners. I just had a carb overload. the last thing I want is adding
    more carbs to my diet.
  4. Juice more. Cutting back on carbs will mean that you have to eat more fruits and veggies. I don’t know about you, but juicing is the best way for me to have my fruits and veggies. It is so easy. Just put everything in the blender or juicer, then grab a straw.

These tips have worked for me in the past. I am going to practice what I preach for at least two weeks to see what will happen. I will keep you guys updated.

A piece of fruit usually helps when I crave sugar, but sometimes I go for dark chocolate.

So hard to stick to healthy diet all the time. What helps me stay on track is not buying junk food, not even for my son most of the time. I know that one of those days when I get home from work hungry, I will surely go for the quick unhealthy food if any is in the house. I wish you a great start to your healthy eating this week!
