My Opinion

  • Affordable (I bought it at my local Kroger store for less than $4.00)
  • Nicely packaged
  • Provides shine
  • Defines curls
  • Very light
  • Leaves hair manageable
  • No flakes
  • Fast drying
  • Controls frizz
  • Can be drying if not used properly (Not really a con)

How I use it:

Make sure the hair is wet or damp before applying the product. Using a leave-in conditioner is always recommended before applying any gel or custard. That helps the hair retain moisture.

Final Results

I paid $3.49 for this product at Kroger. If you  have a Kroger store in your area, it is the best place to buy ethnic products. I hate using the word ethnic, but it is the appropriate term to use if you live where I live. We live in a mostly "white" area, which means any product made for African American hair is fairly cheap. They cater to a larger population, and it is not us, naturals! I am not complaining or anything. That is how businesses work!
Okay, back to the product! My only complaint with this product is that it can leave your hair very dry if you use too much. Coconut oil is at the very bottom of the product label, but I've always had trouble using too much coconut oil as a leave-in. It leaves my hair dry and brittle. It is better if you just tap your index finger on the cream and apply it to your hair. If you find yourself having to squeeze some of the product out, you've used too much. Other than that, I really like it. It leaves my curls defined. It is not that moisturizing, but it does not strip your hair from its natural moisture either. It leaves the hair very shiny. It dries very quickly without leaving any flakes, nor white residues. Pantene Pro-V Truly Natural Hair Defining Curls Styling Custard works as promised when used as directed on the package.
