Jumbo French Braids With A Twist | Wash Day

Hello beautiful people! Are you looking forward to mother’s day?
Speaking of mommy, I was very depressed on Monday. And for the first
time in my life, shopping did not solve the problem. It’s times like
this one that makes you grab your blankie and makes you say, “I want my
mommy!”  This week, my daughter asked my husband if there was a father’s day.
He told her to ask me in his sarcastic voice. She is only five. well,
going on six in August. She probably forgot, but I have been celebrating
father’s day with them! I make them write cards for daddy and I take
him out to eat or buy him something special. It’s not my fault if the
companies make more noise about mother’s day than they do about father’s
day! Be careful about what your children watch on TV. They pay
attention.
Anywho, I ripped a page from one of my favorite hair
bloggers’ book this week and added some apple cider vinegar to my clay
mask. I usually do the apple cider vinegar rinse after the clay because
it makes my hair look very shiny, but it saves me time when I do it here
way, and I did get the same result too. I reviewed my Pantene truly
natural hair deep conditioner here in case you missed that post. It is the reason why I used shampoo this week.

#WashDayExperience

{1} Shampooed with TREsemme moisture rich shampoo diluted with warm water ( my scalp only)

{2} Conditioned with Alberto v05 blackberry sage tea therapy

{3} Clay mask mixed with extra virgin olive oil and apple cider vinegar

{4} Rinsed very well with cool water

{5} Sealed with my Shea butter mix ( extra virgin and Jamaican black castor oils)

Hair Of The Week

I only use shampoo when my hair feels coated or my scalp is really dirty.  I am trying to stay away from heavy products, as they sit on my hair and makes it feel sticky. The bentonite clay has the ability to strip the hair if not used properly. So, I only leave it on for about 15 minutes, and I only used 1/2 cup mixed with water first, then I add olive oil ( 1 tbsp) and apple cider vinegar (2 tbsps). I did not use a leave-in conditioner this wash day because I am trying something new. I will tell you if it is working. How was your wash day?

So sorry you were sad my dear…*hugs* Children are not easy and they do notice everything. All of these holidays are about money, we should celebrate each other every day!! But, Father's Day is smaller in comparison to Mother's day. Just have to make a big noise about it when it comes around 🙂 Love your hair like this, beautiful 🙂 xx

You are very right about TV and its commercialized messages Nerline. Mother's Day really get's more attention than Father's Day and your little girl surely noticed and voiced out her opinion even though it might seem like she actually forgot. Your hair looks beautiful as always and I hope you feel better. Shopping always works for me all the time…:-).

I still can't believe how quickly it sold out (crying right now). The pieces are so cute, preppy, and most importantly affordable. I'm going to go back every week to see if they got any returns tho 😉

Hope you are feeling better now and out of your depression. Children are so attentive, I'm sure daddy is tired of all the hype about Mothers day. I have never used bentonite clay before but I love using apple cider.

My mom is obsessed with essential oils, she gave me peppermint and it's an eye opener when you need to perk up real quick in the am.

Your hair looks great :). Don't worry the advertisers tend to make lots of noise for father's day around memorial day weekend until the day hits.
