DIY Brown Sugar & Lavender Oil Hand Scrub

DIY lavender and brown sugar hand scrub

Today I want to share with you my DIY Brown Sugar & Lavender Oil Hand Scrub. Spring is here. And as many of you already know, Spring is all about rebirth. If the winter season was brutal on your skin and left you with dry, cracked skin, now is the time to shed the dead skin and make your hands look fresh and young again. I tried a DIY hand scrub two weeks ago that I am getting slightly addicted to. This hand scrub can also be used on your face. Lavender essential oil is good at fighting wrinkles. Coconut oil helps fight acne and soften the skin. And brown sugar is a natural exfoliant that gives you a fresh looking skin. It contains glycolic acid that fights bacteria. Brown sugar also helps your skin retain moisture as a humectant. This mixture is even safe enough for sensitive skin.

DIY Brown Sugar & Lavender Oil Hand Scrub

You will need:
1 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup brown sugar
5-10 drops lavender oil
(If you don’t have measuring cups around the kitchen, 1 part sugar and 2 parts coconut oil is all you need)

Mix all the ingredients  together and store the mix in a clean jar

DIY, Brown sugar, lavender oil, hand scub

And Voila!

Your hands will feel a little oily after rinsing the scrub out because of the coconut oil. They will feel  better once you dry them up.  I am into using more natural products these days. I have been all over pinterest looking for ways to make my own cleaning products and saving money. What is your favorite DIY beauty product?

Very interesting and I didn't know that coconut oil prevents acne. I automatically associate most oils with breakouts. Thanks for sharing this!

Cool DIY and nice recipe. I love brown sugar in my oatmeal though, hahaha, but it won't hurt to try it. Sugar has always been a good ingredient for homemade hand scrubs. Thanks for sharing Nerline 🙂
