I've always wanted to try one of these kitchen tools that can turn a zucchini into veggie noodles. Well,  today is my chance! How Brieftons describes the products

Eating Healthy and Creating Delicious Vegetable Meals Easily with the All-New Improved Brieftons 5-Blade Spiralizer!

If you love the Brieftons Tri-Blade Spiralizer, you will find there are even more good reasons to love the Brieftons 5-Blade Spiralizer.
We dissected an already great product and asked ourselves how it could be made better. And the result is a new edition with these integrated features you won't find in any other competing products:
✓ Comes with 2 additional blades (ultra thin 2mm angel-hair blade and curly-fry blade), for a total of 5 blades to cater for all your spiralizing needs
✓ Ingenious removable design for the most compact storage and transport (especially useful for traveling)
✓ Reinforced, heavy-duty, stainless steel forward handle (instead of weak plastic forward handles that can break easily). This is something you definitely want to see in your spiralizer if you want it to last for more than a few months

What can you do with the complete set of 5 blades?

▶ Angel-hair blade for 2mm ultra thin noodles
▶ Fine-shredding blade for 3mm-wide noodles
▶ Crude-shedding blade for 6mm-wide noodles
▶ Flat blade for ribbon-like noodles
▶ Curly-fry blade for 10mm wide x 6mm thick curly fries

My opinion
I received my package in excellent condition. All five blades ( 1 Angel-hair blade, 1 Fine-Shredding Blade, 1 Crude-Shredding Blade, 1 Curly-Fry Blade and 1 Flat blade) were included in the box. There is room to store up to 3 blades within the spiralizer. I wish there were enough room to store all five blades.  The base/bottom of the spiralizer has suction cups that keep it in place on the kitchen counter.  It took me less then three minutes to figure out each piece and put the machine together. The blades are dishwasher safe and it is easy to hand wash them also. The  Brieftons 5-Blade Spiralizer is easy to use. If your fruit or vegetable needs to be peeled, you have to do that yourself. The machine does not do it. It is better to cut the top and the bottom of the vegetable for proper fitting and easy gripping by the spike holds. Once the vegetable is tightly held, you can start turning the vegetable clockwise through the blades with the help of the handle.  Each vegetable you push through the blades gets spiralized. You get long strings of spiral veggies. This machine is not a slicer. So don't expect to get nice slices of tomatoes or onions like I did. I had so much fun using the spiralizer. I even tried to spriralize a hard boiled egg. Please don't try this at home. The result was a disaster, a mess you do not want to clean up.

  • Nicely packaged
  • None-electric
  • Fun to use
  • Easy assembly
  • Easy to clean
  • Suction cups
  • Easy-to-remove blades
  • Gets the job done
  • Not enough room to store the blades
The bottom line
I think spiralizing your veggies is a fun way to enjoy them. I am not quite sure if that will get your kids to eat their vegetables. I must say that they did enjoy the curly fries and the onion rings.  Brieftons 5-Blade Spiralizer  is a basic spiralizer that you can use in your kitchen. If you choose to buy it, don't expect to see something that you would find in Hell's kitchen. BUT, it does get the job done. My only problem is that my curly fries were cut too thin. It is a personal preference. If you don't have a problem with your fries being too thin, then this is the gadget for you!
